International Resource Recycling System-Expansion of the Resource Recycling System throughout Asia and the Pacific

As the responsibility as a manufacturer of office appliances, Fuji Xerox has been involved in building a "resource recycling system" that extends through the life cycle of a product.
In 2001, we started activities directed towards building a resource recycling system in Asia and the Pacific, based on the idea that "as a global corporation, we are responsible for reducing environmental impacts in Asia and the Pacific, which is our sales territory."
In order to realize consistent efficiency and guarantee for the recycling quality, we started running an "international resource recycling system" in December 2004, where used products from different countries and regions are gathered and concentrated in Thailand.

In building a global resource recycling network, Fuji Xerox has established a "fundamental policy for building an international resource recycling system," as an addition to the existing corporate policy, and is aiming to gather cooperation from relevant stakeholders with peace of mind to build this system, which is the first such kind of an attempt in Asia.

Basic Policy and Four Principles for Building This System

Basic Policy for Building This System

1. As a manufacturer, Fuji Xerox will conduct administrative management of factories and avoid risks.
2. By integrating everything at one location, Fuji Xerox guarantees consistent recycling quality.
3. Reductions environmental impacts are to be made in each country and region.

By following this policy, we have created a resource recycling system for the Asia-Pacific region.
We have also established 4 principles so that no environmental impacts are generated for the importing country where the used products are to be gathered.

4 Basic Principles

(1) It is our responsibility as a manufacturer to prevent illegal disposal in collecting products.
(2) Wastes are not to be brought in.
(3) There are to be no environmental impacts generated in the importing country.
(4) Merits are to be passed on to the importing country.

In complying with the 4 basic principles, we will continue with worry-free and safe recycling.
