Life Cycle Planning

At Fuji Xerox, we give top priority to making parts reusable, starting from the planning stage of a new product.

The period of use for copy machines is 3 to 5 years, so the models currently out in the market will be replaced by next generation models during this period.

For this reason, in order to be able to effectively reuse parts, it is essential to plan a life cycle that can span multiple generations of models, so that when new models are later recovered as used products, the parts from them can be reused as parts for successive models.

For the first time in 1999, Fuji Xerox introduced a model with a two-generational design to the market, where approximately 40% of the parts could be reused over a span of two generations.

We are now currently offering products with parts that can be used for three generations.

We will continue to move forward with the expansion and application of two-generational and three-generational designs, focusing on our key models.
