Helping Solve Local Issues

In addition to companywide social contribution activities under the key themes, the 64 companies of Fuji Xerox, which are mainly located in Japan and the Asia Pacific region, conduct various activities designed to address the social issues of their respective countries and regions. The following are examples of such activities.

Fuji Xerox Hiroshima In July 2015, the Tourist Information Center, which was opened on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Fuji Xerox Hiroshima, celebrated its 5th year of operation. Fuji Xerox InterField On June 29, 2015, Fuji Xerox InterField started "E-Qix Point" initiative - collection of donations from its customers through E-Qix – Internet Order and Delivery Service by Fuji Xerox. Depending on the number of applications from customers, received contributions are donated to one of the three organizations – the Nature Conservation Society of Japan, General Incorporated Association Project YUI Consortium, and the MICHINOKU Future Fund.

Fuji Xerox Miyagi/Fuji Xerox Kitanihon "Memory Printing" service (developing photos taken at the venue into calendars or printing them on photo mat boards with seasonal motifs) at local community events in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Fuji Xerox Aichi On the evenings of the summer and winter solstices, one million people turn off the lights in their homes and spend time using only candlelight, thus contributing to energy-saving. The candles distributed to the employees of Fuji Xerox Aichi are purchased from special facilities, where the candles are made by people with disabilities.

Fuji Xerox Tokyo/Fuji Xerox Osaka/Fuji Xerox Service Creative Venue operation support provided by volunteer employees for a dance show organized by LOVE JUNX, an organization supporting entertainment activities for young people with Down syndrome.

Fuji Xerox Hokuriku Implementing Kids' ISO Program, an environmental education program for children. Employees continued supporting this program by volunteering to grade the papers.

Fuji Xerox Kyoto In 2008, we launched a project for the reproduction/replication of historical documents stored in old estates, temples and shrines to enable their use today. The project is operated as a companywide initiative from April 2014.
  • Conservation of diminishing cultures and information (Local Community)
Fuji Xerox Osaka Fuji Xerox Osaka collaborates with businesses, municipal governments and schools to carry out programs for kids where they can learn about the meaning of work. In 2015, Nishinari Ward Office and Osaka City University together with local communities collaborated with Rikuro Co. Ltd. to organize a program called "What does it mean "to work"? Learning about manufacturing by making sweets". (23 children from Tsumori Elementary School and Bainan Elementary School participated in the program). During the day, the kids had a chance to think about the meaning of work and experience manufacturing process first-hand.

Fuji Xerox Yamaguchi Fuji Xerox Yamaguchi contributed to the digital reproduction of iconic Hagi Castle by applying computer graphics technology in a collaborative effort among industry, academia, and government. The initiative is introduced on the website co-hosted by Yamaguchi branch of Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), the Yamaguchi Prefectural government and the Prefectural Tourism Federation. Fuji Xerox believes these efforts will contribute to the promotion of tourism and in the preservation of local culture in Yamaguchi.

Fuji Xerox Fukuoka Employee volunteers help to plan and organize regular concerts of professional bands composed of musicians with intellectual disabilities.

Fuji Xerox Learning Institute Since 2006, Fuji Xerox Learning Institute has been carrying out the Mira (future)-Kuru (coming) Support Office project – a programme, where junior high school students and teachers can experience the world of work. With more than 500 participants to date, the program aims to promote children's interest and positive attitude towards corporations, businesses, and social systems.

Fuji Xerox Advanced Technology Fuji Xerox Advanced Technology has participated in Yokohama Santa Claus Project, which aim was "to deliver smiles to children". Apart from that, employee volunteers participate in cleaning activities in the Minato Mirai district and Santa Claus's visits to orphanages.

Fuji Xerox Korea Fuji Xerox Korea in partnership with Seoul Technical High School (the only Korean high school with a graphic arts department), Seoul Printing Information Industry Cooperative and Seoul Printing Center, has launched an initiative for the education of future generation. Besides donating a DocuColor 5000 Digital Press to the school's new Digital Printing Laboratory, the company has jointly developed and provided an educational program that teaches mechanics, structure and application of digital printers.

Fuji Xerox of Shenzhen (China) In recognition of its continuous CSR efforts, Fuji Xerox Shenzhen received the Golden Bee Award in the 2013 Golden Bee CSR China Honor Roll.

Fuji Xerox (China) To help reduce the country's environmental burden, Fuji Xerox (China) jointly launched a closed-loop recycling system for polyester uniforms with Teijin (Nantong Teijin) and Onward Holdings (Onward Trading (Shanghai)). As the first phase of the program, 500 customer engineers at Fuji Xerox (China), and about 200 workers at Fuji Xerox Eco-Manufacturing (Suzhou) started to wear the recyclable uniforms in January 2014.

Fuji Xerox Hong Kong Fuji Xerox Hong Kong, together with artists and children with heart disease, created art works from the used parts of Fuji Xerox products and presented them at an exhibition, aiming to raise the awareness of environmental issues.

Fuji Xerox Taiwan Fuji Xerox Taiwan became the first company in the industry to receive the Excellent Enterprise Award from Taoyuan County in recognition of the company's longstanding green procurement activities as well as resource recycling systems at its factory in the country.

Fuji Xerox Vietnam Employee volunteers visit facilities for children with disabilities and seniors in a suburb of Hanoi.

Fuji Xerox Singapore Fuji Xerox Singapore participated in "Smile Singapore Campaign," which aims to make Singapore a happier country. Together with its corporate partners, Fuji Xerox Singapore is going to make and display a giant art work, which consists of about 5,000 smiling portraits printed by the company's high speed printers. For every photo submitted, Fuji Xerox Singapore will donate $5 to raise fund a total of $50,000 for supporting 1,000 families. The money will go towards a "Smile Pack Distribution" fund to distribute food packs to low income households. In each run, the employees will volunteer in packing and distributing the Smile Packs in collaboration with a local NPO.

Fuji Xerox Printer Channel Operations Operating a range of community-based charity and volunteer activities for the support for future generations, environmental conservation, socially vulnerable groups, and other causes in Australia, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries.
