Fuji Xerox currently offers two brands of digital Multi Functional Peripheral (MFP) devices: the DocuCentre series and the ApeosPort series. Both MFP devices are equipped with features such as copy, fax, print, and scan. ApeosPort was launched in 2005 to target our customers who wish to use MFP device as an advanced network terminal. In other words, ApeosPort was launched in response to customers who wish to use MFP as a terminal for their critical business system. In this paper, we introduce the purpose, overview, and characteristics of the framework of ApeosPort "Apeos iiX (Apeos Internet Integration framework based on XML)" that links service and ApeosPort via the network. We will also introduce the actual examples using Apeos iiX.
