Image Difference Extraction Technology

Comparing revised documents or drawings with the older versions to quickly and accurately extract changes is crucial in enhancing efficiency in the checking process for drawings revised in design and development work involved in manufacturing, construction & architecture, and in proofreading newly created or printed manuals and brochures.

To realize the above, paper documents should be scanned and images compared to extract differences. However, skews and positional shifts in all directions occur when using an Auto Document Feeder to scan paper documents. Therefore, a function is needed to correct the problem prior to scanning, and must be applicable to all commercially available devices.

This report introduces an image difference extraction technology that enables the precise extraction of differences in scanned images.
