We will introduce a service/system
technology capable of promoting the effective management
and utilization of documents, the sharing of knowledge,
and collaboration in the ubiquitous society.
As network infrastructure advances and more and more appliances are connected to networks, we are approaching the point at which information relevant to our lives and social activities can be accessed interactively from anywhere at any time by various means.
Understanding the promises and challenges of such an environment, Fuji Xerox is researching and developing service/system technologies that offers ubiquitous computing (refer to the column box below) in its fullest form and can help create a human-centered, user-friendly, high value-added environment in which all these devices are organically interconnected.
Here are just some of the fields Fuji Xerox is developing:
Document handling and management system that offers the efficient management, sharing, and utilization of large volumes of documents.
Service coordination technology that enhances productivity by organically linking information and documents over networks.
Next-generation conference and collaboration systems that enable interaction between humans and between humans and information without the IT equipment distracting the users.
Electronic Document Technology (Docuworks) In addition to the convenience of searching and editing functions of electronic documents created with PCs and other electronic devices, the technology introduced here also enables the handling of electronic documents in a manner similar to paper documents.
Scan Translating TechnologyTechnology for using a multifunction device to print out documents in various languages, as easily as if they were being copied.
EOO (E Open Office)EOO is comprised of a series of technologies that promote the tranparent use of IT, allowing users to concentrate on delivering a presentation without being distracted
Photo-Addressable Electronic PaperThis display technology combines the handiness of paper documents with the convenience of electronic media.
Real Organizational Behavior Audit Service (ROBAS)Technology that supports organizational improvement activities by measuring actual collaboration in the field and perfoming analysis to utilize the obtained data.
Natural Language ProcessingTechnology that uses a computer to extract important information from large amounts of character data by analyzing everyday language (natural language).
