Main CSR Indicators in Engagement with Employees

Employment at Fuji Xerox

Fuji Xerox and its affiliates have been striving to maintain and improve competitiveness by offering flexible employment arrangements to suit the nature of the tasks that are essential to further our business, and the expected roles of our employees.

In the future, as we face a market environment that is expected to change dramatically, we will adapt our business operations and structure by advancing a structural reform over a three-year period starting from fiscal 2017, in order to achieve the sustainable growth of our company.

As the total number of employees is declining both in and outside of Japan, we are striving to achieve increased productivity in existing business domains with fewer employees, while endeavoring to answer the need to recruit at a certain level in growth areas.

In this situation, where we are seeing dynamic changes to the personnel structure, we will remain consistent in continuing to recruit and develop our workforce in an appropriate manner and in accordance with the changes in business development and market size in each country and region.

Description of fiscal 2017 performance Goals/challenges
Description 1 Fuji Xerox achieved the fiscal 2017 target of 7% on an unconsolidated basis. The number of female managers increased at its affiliates in Japan also. Fuji Xerox sets the target of 14% for 2020 on an unconsolidated basis. To attain this target, the company will implement measures on corporate culture, organizational management and corporate systems.
Description 2 The number of companies required to attain the legally stipulated employment rate for people with disabilities amounted to 46, of which 33 attained the rate. In and after fiscal 2018 the FUJIFILM Holdings Group will enhance measures to attain the rate as the entire Group, based on the special calculation rule applied to corporate groups. Moreover, all Group companies will work to provide all employees, including those with disabilities, with the workplaces that they can exert their capabilities to the fullest extent.
Description 3 There were no substantial year-on-year changes observed for Fuji Xerox and its affiliates in and outside Japan.  Although there have been no substantial changes made to the score in recent years, measures will continue to be implemented for further improvement of the workplace environment at all the targeted companies.
Description 4 On an unconsolidated basis, the annual work hours per employee increased at Fuji Xerox, while at its affiliates in Japan the working hours decreased at the manufacturing, administration and sales departments. We will foster work style reforms to help all the targeted companies achieve the best results possible, notwithstanding time and resource limits.
Description 5 On an unconsolidated basis, the number increased from 11 cases in fiscal 2016 to 17 cases in fiscal 2017. We will work to reduce the number of work-related accidents to zero by helping employees raise their awareness of the importance of risk detection and prevention for their safety during work as well as during commutation and transportation, including business trips.
