Warning: Spoofing emails that seem to be sent from our multifunction printers

July 1, 2015

We have confirmed that there have been fraudulent emails that seem to be sent from our multifunction printers.

The email subject, sender and the name of attached files used in those spoofing emails are as follows;
Subject: Scanned from a Xerox Multifunction Printer
Sender: Xerox {random numbers}@{your domain address}
Name of attached files: Scanned from a Xerox Multifunction Printer.doc

In case you receive any emails which you do not expect, please DO NOT open nor execute any attached files.

Also we recommend our customers who are using our “Scan to E-mail” function to take countermeasures such as changing the default subject of emails sent through this function, so that the fraudulent emails could be easily distinguished. Please refer to the instruction manual of your multifunction printer for the setup process.
