Providing New Value and Strengthening the R&D Network
Establishing a New R&D Environment and Creating New Value
Fuji Xerox celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. To continue growing for the next 50 years, we built Fuji Xerox R&D Square, a new research and development center, in Yokohama's Minato Mirai District. With the opening of Fuji Xerox R&D Square, we are now creating a new R&D structure that has two main hubs: Fuji Xerox R&D Square (focusing on research and development) and Ebina Center (focusing on the development of manufacturing technologies).
In Fuji Xerox R&D Square, with the aim of creating value from a thoroughly customer-centric approach, we have built the Customer Co-creation Laboratory and are utilizing it as a place in which we work with our customers to create new value together.
In order to maximize the benefit of establishing an urban R&D site, we are also working together with various neighboring partners such as universities, research institutes, and companies, as well as public organizations that promote collaboration between government, industry, and academia. By using this dynamic network of organizations and combining the knowledge possessed by each organization, we aim to create synergy to resolve not only our own challenges but also those facing the community.
A Global R&D Network
Fuji Xerox mainly provides its products and services in Japan, China, and other parts of the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, however, the multifunction devices and printers that we develop are sold globally through our partners, such as Xerox Corporation. In order to meet the needs of customers worldwide, we work together with the research and development groups of Xerox Corporation in the United States and Europe to develop new technologies and products. FX Palo Alto Laboratory in California's Silicon Valley also conducts research on cutting-edge technologies mainly related to multimedia or ICT, supporting our development of service technologies.
Fuji Xerox also develops products outside Japan, at locations such as Fuji Xerox of Shanghai, Fuji Xerox Industry Development, and Fuji Xerox Korea. There are also software development sites in Shanghai and Singapore that conduct research and development suitable for each country or region.
In addition, with the aim of strengthening our R&D structure, we have opened the new Innovation Office in Singapore to serve as the hub of our research and development in the Asia Pacific region. At Innovation Office, we plan to collaborate with our customers and partner companies in the Asia Pacific region, working to verify value in order to resolve customers' business challenges.
At Fuji Xerox, through strong cooperation between Fuji Xerox R&D Square, our research and development center in Japan; FX Palo Alto Laboratory, our research center in the United States; and Innovation Office, our research center in Singapore, we aim to speedily meet the needs of our global customers and expand our solution service operations.
